HOUSING NAVIGATION CENTER (Housing Resource Model)

Housing Plus Programs

Homelessness impacts everyone, not just people battling substance abuse. and that's why we make every effort to involve everyone. We work with families and individuals experiencing homelessness. We partner with local landlords to reduce vacancy rates and to prevent evictions. We provide in-home visits to tenants receiving rental assistance. We cover every angle and involve every expert to reach our goal: the elimination of homelesness, one person/one family at a time.

How Our Program Works

The Housing Navigation Center provides services to individuals and families that are experiencing a need related to housing and who are not receiving, or are not eligible to receive, services from any other agency in the community.

Housing Navigation Center (HNC) staff will work with people in need of assistance to identify community resources that will assist with securing housing.

Who is Eligible for our Services?

Individuals and families who request services to overcome homelessness or to avoid becoming homeless in the near future are eligible for our services. Priority is given to individuals/families who are identified as chronically homeless and/or who are at or below 30% (Individual < $13,050) of the Area Median Income (AMI) in Muskegon County.

Goals of the Program

Clients wil:
  • Learn how to navigate community resources
  • Secure independent, permanent housing
  • Increase their skills and income
  • Set and achieve their personal goals

WMT works tirelessly to create and maintain a wide variety of programs to address the wide variety of reasons why homelessness is prevalent in Muskegon County.
